The Closed Loop Home debuts at High Point Market

Crystal Bright will introduce The Closed Loop Home during an early-release book signing at Rhen.Ovations Studio at Fall High Point Market. A limited number of complimentary signed copies will be available to Market attendees ahead of the book’s official October 31 release.

The book introduces a practical residential design method that starts with recurring friction — remembering, searching, task switching, extra physical steps, sensory load, and systems that fail on low-capacity days — and asks what the environment itself can do differently.

Story angles

Crystal is available for interviews, expert commentary, podcasts, features, design-industry conversations, and stories about neurodivergent residential design.

What if the home carried more of the cognitive load?

How environmental design can support remembering, sequencing, transitions, task completion, and everyday executive function.

Designing for neurodivergent life

A residential approach to ADHD, autism, AuDHD, sensory needs, visibility, regulation, and changing capacity.

Design for the 20% day

Why a system that only works when someone has full capacity is a fragile design system — and what a low-capacity fallback path can look like.

Friction is design information

How repeated mess, forgotten objects, unfinished tasks, and household workarounds can reveal where a space needs better support.

Beyond traditional room labels

Designing around the activity that actually happens in a space rather than what a dining room, entry, bedroom, or living room is conventionally expected to do.

Accessibility beyond the visible

How residential accessibility can include cognitive, sensory, and other non-apparent needs alongside physical accessibility.

“Why are we designing our homes around what rooms are supposed to do instead of what we actually need them to do?”— Crystal Bright

About Crystal Bright

Crystal Bright is an interior designer, author, and founder of Living Bright Interiors, based in North Carolina. She founded her design business in 2020 and has since worked with hundreds of residential and commercial clients remotely and in person.

Her work increasingly focuses on how interior environments shape sensory experience, behavior, routines, and daily function. As she came to better understand her own autism and ADHD, that work became more personal and ultimately led to The Closed Loop Home: a methodology for designing around real behavior, sensory needs, and changing capacity.

The Closed Loop Home: Crystal Bright to Introduce New Neurodivergent Residential Design Method at Fall High Point Market

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Interior designer and author Crystal Bright will introduce The Closed Loop Home, a new practical design method for creating homes around how people actually think, live, and function, with an advance-release book signing during Fall 2026 High Point Market.

The official High Point Market event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from 2–4 p.m. at Rhen.Ovations Studio, 106 W. Martin Luther King Drive in High Point, North Carolina. A limited number of complimentary signed copies will be available to Market attendees ahead of the book’s October 31 release.

Bright’s framework starts with ordinary friction inside the home — repeated searching, remembering, task switching, extra physical steps, sensory overload, or systems that collapse on low-capacity days — and asks what the environment itself can do differently. The method is organized around a five-part code: EVENT → NEED → FRICTION → SUPPORT → EXIT, followed by a final test: Does it still work at 20%?

The book is written for people with ADHD, autism, AuDHD and other neurodivergent experiences, as well as interior designers and anyone interested in creating homes that place less cognitive and sensory demand on the people living in them.

Bright founded Living Bright Interiors in 2020 and has since worked with hundreds of clients remotely and in person. Her work increasingly focuses on the relationship between interior design, sensory experience, behavior, and daily function. The Closed Loop Home grew from that work and from Bright’s lived experience as a neurodivergent designer.

The book is available for preorder now, with preorder shipping beginning in late October and the official book and audiobook release scheduled for October 31, 2026.
