The Closed Loop Home -PREORDER FOR 10/31 RELEASE
A practical design method for a home that works with the way you actually live.
PREORDER • FALL 2026
YOUR HOME ALREADY HAS SYSTEMS.
But do they actually fit you?
You've probably been taught to ask:
Where should this go?
How do I stay organized?
Why can't I keep up with this system?
I think there's another question worth asking:
What is the environment asking from you — and could your home carry more of that load instead?
The Closed Loop Home is an interior-design methodology for designing around real behavior instead of ideal behavior.
It looks at the ordinary places where a home repeatedly asks for:
more remembering
more searching
more decisions
more physical steps
more task switching
more sensory tolerance
and asks what could change in the environment instead.
THE CODE
EVENT → NEED → FRICTION → SUPPORT → EXIT
Then:
Does it still work at 20%?
Because a system that only works when you have enough capacity is a fragile system.
INSIDE THE BOOK
You’ll learn how to:
recognize open loops before blaming yourself
read repeated mess and workarounds as design information
design rooms around behavior instead of labels
reduce unnecessary cognitive and physical demand
create environmental support for memory and executive function
design for sensory control instead of one universal “sensory-friendly” aesthetic
create systems with low-capacity fallback paths
understand when the answer is storage, furniture, lighting, zoning, adjacency, automation — or architecture
run everyday problems through the Closed Loop Code yourself
WHO THIS BOOK IS FOR
For people with ADHD, autism, AuDHD and other neurodivergent experiences.
For people whose homes technically function but somehow feel exhausting.
For anyone who's ever bought another organizer only to watch the exact same problem return.
For interior designers who want a more human framework for function.
And for anyone ready to stop designing around what a home is supposed to look like and start designing around the life actually happening inside it.
About the Author
Crystal Bright began her interior design business in 2020, at a moment when lockdowns were changing the way people experienced their homes. That perspective led her deeper into sensory design and environmental psychology, exploring not just how spaces look, but how they feel and function for the people living in them.
As she came to better understand her own autism and ADHD, that work became more personal: What would it look like to design a home around brains like hers from the beginning?
That question ultimately became The Closed Loop Home—a methodology for designing around real behavior, sensory needs, and changing capacity.
You don't need to become better at obeying your home.
You can start asking your home to support you better.
